Development of Spatial Abilities of Preadolescents: What Works?

Creation in space and perception of spatial relations are important workplace skills that can be successfully developed public education through the cooperation art education, mathematics, technology, STEAM model has been employed higher education. In a longitudinal school-based experiment, we enhanced preadolescents STEAM-based educational programme. To design our methods intervention visual arts, information used structure identified previous studies. Developmental involved two- three-dimensional visualisation tasks real-life virtual learning environments. We pre- post-hoc assessment using ability task sequence standardised Hungary proved to valid for assessing Slovak students as well. Authentic included situations when visualisations were orientation creation. Pre-test results showed significant differences between school classes: high achievers middle-to-low achievers. Our developmental programme was aimed at personalised talent development high-achieving classes general improvement performance low achievers, raising insufficient pre-test an average post-test performance.
